More bad luck for the Boston Bruins as they placed Marc Savard on Long Term injured reserve. Savard has suffered a broken left foot and will miss four to six weeks. The I95 shuffle continues for the Bruins as they call up Trent Whitfield from the Providence Bruins. Whitfield was signed by the Bruins in July as a free agent. Whitfield has tallied 3 goals and 5 assists in the six games he has played in Providence. Trent has appeared in 177 NHL games having 11 goals and 17 assists.
Boston.com is reporting that Savard has been playing through the injury that apparently happened in a pre season practice when he took a shot off the left foot. Marc re-injured the left foot in practice yesterday and will not need surgery.
